Hi, I’m Deirdre.
If you're living with chronic pain, migraines, digestive issues, anxiety, or other persistent symptoms that no one seems able to explain, I want you to know that you're not alone—and that there is hope.
I'm a trained Somatic Mind-Body Coach, a Certified Freedom From Chronic Pain Neuroplasticity Practitioner, and a Certified Therapeutic Play Practitioner. I help people understand the powerful connection between the brain, body, and nervous system so they can break free from chronic symptoms and return to living with greater ease, confidence, and joy.
My journey into this work began with my own search for answers.
Originally from Ireland, I now live in beautiful Nevada City, California, with my family. For more than 20 years, I experienced almost daily migraines alongside body pain, digestive issues, food sensitivities, and chronic stress. I went through countless medical tests only to be told that my body was healthy and that nothing was wrong. A neurologist diagnosed me with chronic migraines and recommended medication for the rest of my life.
Deep down, I believed there had to be another way.
Over the years I explored naturopathy, Ayurveda, Chinese medicine, homeopathy, bodywork, meditation, nutrition, and many other healing modalities. While each one supported me in different ways, none helped me understand why my symptoms kept returning.
Like many people with chronic symptoms, I reached a point where I felt exhausted, discouraged, and even began to question myself. Was it all in my head?
Everything changed when I discovered the work of Dr. John Sarno, Dr. Howard Schubiner, and the science of neuroplasticity.
For the first time, my symptoms made sense.
I learned that chronic pain and many other persistent symptoms can develop when the nervous system remains stuck in a protective state after periods of stress, trauma, illness, or overwhelm. The brain continues sending danger signals to the body even when the original threat has passed.
The symptoms are real. The pain is real. But with the right approach, the brain and nervous system can learn a new pattern of safety.
That understanding changed everything for me.
By applying the principles of neuroplasticity and mind-body healing, I gradually became free from the migraines and chronic symptoms that had shaped my life for decades. More importantly, I rediscovered a sense of safety, confidence, and joy that I hadn't experienced in years.
Today, it is my privilege to guide others through that same journey.
My approach combines neuroscience, somatic practices, and compassionate coaching to help you understand what your body is communicating, retrain your brain and nervous system, and create lasting change. Healing isn't just about reducing symptoms—it's about reclaiming your life, trusting your body again, and moving forward with hope instead of fear.
I believe healing is about so much more than becoming symptom-free. It's about reclaiming your life, feeling at home in your body again, and knowing that your future does not have to be defined by pain.
If this resonates with you, I'd love to connect. I invite you to explore the Resources page to learn more about the science behind this work, and if you're ready to take the next step, book a complimentary consultation. Together, we'll explore whether this approach is the right fit for you.
Healing begins the moment we stop fearing our symptoms and start understanding them.
